General Dental Service

Every treatment begins with a careful check-up. Shining Smile has the latest technology available. The Dentist will evaluate the type of treatment the patient will need to do. The treatments are separated as simple and complex dental services.

Simple dental services: preventive treatment, cleaning (prophylaxis) and oral hygiene, fillings, plaque control, scraping off tartar and removal of cavities. These treatments are important for reducing the risks of serious diseases.
Complex dental services: orthodontics, prosthesis, implant, endodontics, bruxism among others.
The complex dental services are forwarded by the General Clinical Dentist to the specialized dentist according to the area being treated.

Cleaning

The treatment is done by a dentist in an office. Cleaning is done with specific material and products. Each tooth and the deepest part of the gum is sanitized by the dentist. The treatment is preventive and the goal is to keep the mouth healthy and avoid risks of periodontal and oral diseases such as gingivitis and cavities.

Fillings

Fillings is a treatment indicated to combat and eliminate cavities, trauma, and toothache in some cases. The treatment consists of the cleaning of every carious area, for example, and after that cleaning, the dentist passes the mass, which can be resin (tooth color) or the amalgam (silver color) in the affected region thus avoiding the appearance of new cavities. In some cases, it may be necessary to reconstruct the tooth.

Root Canal/Endodontics

Endodontics is the treatment of lesions, diseases of the pulp or nerve and the root of the tooth. The treatment is done in several steps depending on the patients case. Usually, an opening is made in the tooth. After done this opening, the infected pulp is removed and the canal is sanitized and sterilized. After this procedure, a temporary filling is done to protect the tooth. The treatment is terminated with the removal of this temporary restoration and the cavity of the pulp and the canal permanently filled.

Extraction

Extraction is the removal of the tooth. Each extraction has a specific procedure, so it is necessary to do an x-ray to figure out the size, shape, and position of the tooth and bone. Based on this information, the dentist will know which best way to remove this tooth. Depending on the case, this procedure can be done through dental surgery.

Bruxism

Bruxism is when the bite is extremely strong by clenching the teeth. Usually, Bruxism happens at night, when the person is asleep.  Some signs are, waking up with the sore jaw, headache and the weakening of teeth. The treatment consists of molding the teeth to make the acrylic or silicone plate for use by the patient.

Periodontics

Periodontics is the treatment of problems in the gums, bones and oral tissues. The symptoms are usually pain, bleeding, swelling or any change in the region of the mouth. The treatment can vary from deep oral hygiene to surgery, depending on the patients case.

Prosthetics

It is the reconstruction and replacement of the damaged or lost tooth. Basically, there are two types of prostheses: removable and fixed. The benefits of using the dental prosthesis go beyond the increase of the patients self-esteem due to the aesthetics. The prosthesis gives it back chewing and phonetic features and functions. It also recomposes and protects the joint functions of the mouth region.

Implants (Implant Dental)

They are metal cylinders placed in the maxillary bones that replace the roots of the missing teeth. The treatment is basically done in two steps. First, surgery is done, where the implant is placed in the bone. After this surgery, a prosthesis is made in the dental implant. The implant works like natural teeth, which helps to solve the aesthetic question and chewing functions.
